October 2024 member sticker: Bombastic Bat

It's spooky season, and truly there are few better beasts than bats for the occasion!

This guy is the little brown bat. They live all over the place in North America, including my locale! Unfortunately, they're facing their own very spooky situation: white-nose syndrome, a highly contagious fungal infection that prevents them from hibernating successfully. I think research is still being done into how humans can help with this problem, but in the meantime I encourage y'all to spare a thought for these fuzzy friends and give thanks that our species has technology like masks, air filtering, and vaccinations for diseases.
